In 1993, at age 13, Alex began his formal dance training at Pointe Dance Academy under Heidi Wright and Sonja Dickerson-Faust. He has received numerous dance scholarships, training with prestigious institutions like Ballet Concierto de Puerto Rico, Cheshire Dance Centre, Valencia College, The University of the Arts, The Rock School, The Joffrey Ballet School, Dance Theatre of Harlem, and Alvin Ailey American Dance Theatre. Alex has danced professionally with Eleone Dance Theatre and Koresh Dance Company, working with renowned choreographers such as Donald Byrd, Milton Meyers, Robert Battle, and Abdell Salaam to name a few.

 

Beyond dancing, Alex has taught master classes across the U.S. and boasts extensive choreography credits, including the Golden Scissors Awards in Washington, D.C., Patrick Swayze's Dirty Dancing Celebration, the Miami Heat Championship Dance Team, The Boscov's Thanksgiving Day Parade, and commercial work for Old Navy and GAP. He's graced the covers of numerous newspapers and magazines being recognized as a leading dancer and choreographer of the U.S. Virgin Islands. He has been a guest choreographer for various pageants and was the former owner and Director of Miss Urban Teenz International. Currently, Alex is the President and Chief Executive Officer of Cruzan Dance Company, Incorporated & Founder of the Virgin Islands Salsa Festival.
